CO2 Laser Safety Window(10,600nm)

High-Performance Co2 Laser Safety Window for Radiation Shielding  in Industrial conditions

CO2 laser safety windows are critical optical components designed to provide a secure viewing area for high-power laser operations. Operating primarily at the 10,600nm (10.6µm) wavelength, CO2 lasers pose significant risks to human tissue and eyesight if not properly contained. Our laser viewing windows allow operators to monitor processes like cutting, engraving, and welding safely without compromising on visual clarity.

Key Technical Specifications

To ensure maximum protection, our windows are engineered to meet stringent international safety standards, including EN 207, EN 12254, and ANSI Z136.1.

  • Wavelength Protection: Optimized for 10,600nm (Far-Infrared).

  • Optical Density (OD): Typically OD 6+ or OD 7+ at the target wavelength, reducing laser radiation by a factor of 1,000,000 or more.

  • Visible Light Transmission (VLT): High-clarity filters (often clear or light yellow) ensuring VLT of 70% or higher for optimal workspace visibility.

  • Material Options:

    • Acrylic/Polycarbonate: Impact-resistant and lightweight, ideal for large-scale enclosures.

    • Mineral Glass: Superior thermal stability for high-wattage, continuous-wave (CW) industrial lasers.

Applications in Industrial Environments

Our CO2 laser shielding solutions are versatile and can be custom-integrated into various setups:

  1. Laser Machine Enclosures: Replace standard glass with certified laser-safe panels to create Class 1 laser systems from Class 4 sources.

  2. Laboratory Viewing Ports: Safe monitoring for R&D facilities and medical laser labs.

  3. Protective Barriers: Large-scale partitions for automated laser welding cells.

  4. Custom OEM Integration: Precision-cut windows tailored to your specific machine dimensions and mounting requirements.

Why choose our laser safety windows?

Unlike standard acrylic, our specialized filters are embedded with absorbing dyes or coatings specifically calibrated to block the 10.6µm infrared beam.

Safety Note: While a laser safety window protects bystanders and operators outside an enclosure, it is not a replacement for laser safety goggles. In many jurisdictions, PPE is still required when the enclosure is open for maintenance or alignment.

  • Standard Compliance: Fully certified to CE and DIN standards.

  • Durability: Scratch-resistant surfaces with high “damage thresholds” against accidental direct hits.

  • Customization: Available in standard sizes (e.g., 200x100mm, 297x210mm) or bespoke dimensions up to 2.4 meters.

laservision’s core business is laser safety goggles based on coated or absorptive plastic or glass filters. As one of the leading manufacturers within the laser safety area laservision’s main and essential mission is to protect human eyes from artificial optical radiation. “protecting people” – is the challenge laservision rises to with much know-how, new ideas, and passionate commitment.
